Vaishno Devi, located in the Trikuta Mountains in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in India. The pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi is an extraordinary spiritual journey, where faith, devotion, and the beauty of nature come together. The journey to Vaishno Devi begins at the base camp in Katra, a town in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The trek to the shrine is approximately 13 kilometers (8 miles) uphill and takes around 6 to 7 hours to complete, though many devotees take longer. The path to the shrine is well-paved and surrounded by lush hills and forests, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Pilgrims walk or use ponies, palanquins, or helicopter services to reach the top, depending on their preference and physical ability. As pilgrims ascend the mountain, they pass through several important points, including Banganga, a small spring believed to have been created by Goddess Vaishno Devi herself to quench the thirst of Lord Ram during his exile.
