Vaishno Devi is best visited from March to November. The weather is pleasant, and the trekking conditions are ideal. Shivkhori can be visited throughout the year, though it’s best to avoid monsoon months due to the slippery terrain inside the cave. Patnitop is a year-round destination, with pleasant weather from April to October. However, for snow lovers, December to February offers a beautiful winter experience.

The trek to Vaishno Devi is approximately 12 km from Katra to the temple. It is moderate in difficulty. You can trek on foot or opt for ponies/palanquins to make the journey easier.

The trek to the Shivkhori cave is about 3 kilometers long. It’s a relatively easy trek through a narrow path that leads you to the sacred Shiva Lingam inside the cave.

Yes, both Vaishno Devi and Shivkhori have basic medical camps along the trekking routes. There are also emergency medical assistance and evacuation facilities in place.
